Karen Paulina Biswell (born 1983, Aruba) lives and works between Paris and Bogotá, Colombia. Moving between Western European traditions and Indigenous ways of inhabiting the world, Biswell creates a visual universe where history, myth, and contemporaneity converge. Her photography explores the spiritual presence of nature, dissolving boundaries between body and landscape while revealing the vulnerability and fragility of human existence. Drawing on her background in editorial photography, she produces images marked by raw beauty and subtle erotic tension. Her work engages with the unseen, the extreme, and the psychological depths of contemporary life. Her work is held in major public collections including the Musée du Quai Branly – Jacques Chirac (Paris), the Museo del Banco de la República (Colombia), PAMM Pérez Art Museum Miami, the Collection des Rencontres de la Photographie (Arles), Musée Réattu (Arles), and MAMM – Museum of Modern Art of Medellín.
